While interacting with various clients during the workshops and
demonstrations conducted by Paramparik Karigar, we have created
an awareness of Bagru printing techniques. As participants at the
workshops and buyers at exhibitions learn about the techniques,
they appreciate our effort, and this has made the craft more popular
increasing the demand for our textiles. Our craft is so beautiful and
flexible that it can be created on various fabrics and garments. This
combined with our open-mindedness to experiment, has stood us in
good stead.
While my generation has an innate understanding of the craft, I was keen
that my son Dheeraj Chhipa learns design and marketing. He has done
a course at IICD Jaipur, and thus has knowledge of the techniques of
hand-block printing as well as of fashion, current trends, expanding the
design vocabulary of hand-block prints, the possibilities of increasing
our product range and our presence in the Indian, overseas and luxury
markets.
Drawing from his knowledge and experience, Dheeraj believes in
providing premium quality textiles and clothing by using authentic Bagru
prints, Dabu prints and natural dyes. His efforts have taken our work,
products and name to the next level. He has launched his own brand
named, Dheeraj Chhipa and is in the process of building its identity
while also being deeply involved with the craft. He says the rhythm of
the blocks striking fabric is music to his ears and inspires him to design
and print!
In this way, our craft that was once only meant for producing fabrics and
apparel for local communities and sale in local markets has now spread
its wings and reached shores far away from our small town. Our family
is grateful for the association with Paramparik Karigar, and we foresee a
bright future for the generations to come.
Our craft is so beautiful and

various fabrics and garments.
This combined with our open-
mindedness to experiment, has
stood us in good stead.
