In the past few weeks, as I interviewed more than thirty of
Ganesh’s friends, relatives and co-weavers in Maheshwar, I heard
nothing but praise for this understated, extraordinary man who
everyone called my best friend...
Yes, everyone claimed he was their mentor, guide, saviour,
teacher, best friend and brother...
Everyone I interviewed spoke of his patience, generosity,
humility and unfailingly quiet, helpful responses to whatever
situation was at hand. Ganesh Bicchwe never ever raised his
voice at anyone; and very rarely refused to help when requested.
I will now share with you just a few of the many, many Ganesh
stories we have heard in the process of interviewing his friends,
relatives and co-workers.
